Rishikesh is a city in Dehradun district which lies in one of the Indian state, Uttrakhand situated in the foothills of the Himalayas. It is also known as “Yoga Capital of the World”. It is approximately 25 km north as one of the sacred places in India, Haridwar and 43 km southeast from state capital Dehradun. Population of Rishikesh is 102,138 which makes it seventh most populated city in Uttrakhand state. It is very popular among the pilgrims and spiritual seekers and is considered as one of the holy places of Hindus. How to reach Rishikesh
Rishikesh is well connected by road, rail, and air transport system.
By Road – It is approximately 225 km from Delhi airport. Local as well as foreign tourists can reach Rishikesh either by taxi or by Bus service. It takes approximately 6-7 hours to reach there from Delhi. There is frequent, Haridwar – Rishikesh bus service, which takes approximately 25-30 min as well as Rishikesh-Dehradun bus service, which takes approximately 45min – 1 hour. Tourists also have option of taxi from these places also.
By Rail – Rishikesh has well connected railway network. Wellness seekers can easily reach Rishikesh from major cities through trains.
Nearest Airport – Jolly Grant Airport (Dehradun) is the nearest airport. It is 15 km away from Rishikesh.
